All top stars like M & M, Dileep and Prithviraj have confirmed Onam 2011 releases.
Now the latest we hear is that Jayaram who is riding a wave is trying to get one of his films ready for Onam.
2011 has seen Jayaram making a strong comeback. He had four releases in Malayalam- Kudumbasree Travels, Makeup Man, China Town and Seniors. Out of this list only Kudumbasree Travels has bombed the rest especially Seniors is a super hit.
Jayaram more than anybody else deserves a Onam release, traditionally only big stars have release during this festival.
The trade considers an actor as commercially viable only if he has an Onam hit.
Taking all this into consideration Jayaram and his producer Milan Jaleel have approached theatres asking for an Onam date for their Ulagam Sutrum Valiban.
The film named after MGR’s all-time big hit is an out and out comedy entertainer ideally suited for Onam.
The shooting of the film directed by Raj Babu is going on near Ottapalam.
It stars Jayaram, Biju Menon, Suraj Venjaranmoodu and two heroines Vandana and Mitra Kurian.
In all probability if the producer manages to get theatres, Ulagam Sutrum Valiban will be Jayaram’s Onam release on September 7.
